23-year-old policewoman shot dead by her lover in Uganda

Police in Kabale District, Uganda are investigating circumstances below which a 23-year-old feminine police officer was allegedly shot useless by her civilian lover. 

Based on police, PC Caroline Komuhangi, who was hooked up to the Kabale Police Discipline power Unit was killed on Sunday morning, March 19, 2023, at her barracks residence.

“It is alleged that on March 18, 2023 at round 6pm, the deceased signed for the gun and went for evening responsibility. At round 6:30am on March 19, she reported again from responsibility and whereas she was resting, her man buddy Denis Arinaitwe got here in and the 2 picked a quarrel,” Kigezi area police spokesperson Elly Maate instructed Every day Monitor.

“As Komuhangi tried to flee, the person buddy picked her gun, thereby capturing her one bullet from the again and different two on the shoulder, killing her immediately, ” Mr Maate mentioned.

On Sunday, policemen within the pair’s neighborhood arrested the civilian man buddy and took him to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital (KRRH) below guard.

“This was as a result of he was additionally injured as he tried to commit suicide by capturing himself via the nostril,” Maate revealed.

Mr Maate mentioned that the exhibit of cartridges and blood stains on the rifle have been recovered and a case of homicide recorded at Kabale police station.

By noon, the physique of the deceased had been retrieved from the scene and brought to KRRH mortuary for postmortem.
