27 killed as explosion rocks Nasarawa community

No fewer than 27 Fulani pastoralists have been killed after a bomb blast suspected to be an airstrike hit a group in Doma Native Authorities Space of Nasarawa State. 

 

The blast was allegedly focused at suspected bandits who’ve been terrorizing residents alongside the border areas linking Nasarawa and Benue states.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed this in a press release on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, stated the unhappy incident occurred within the Rukubi group of Doma LGA on Tuesday night time, January 24. 

 

He, nevertheless, stated the state police command is working in collaboration with sister safety companies and the state authorities to unravel the circumstances that led to the bombing, and arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Talking on the incident, the Chairman of Doma LGA, Ahmed Sarki-Usman, condemned the assault in its entirety.

The act is able to inflicting unrest within the LGA however I notably wish to thank the Fulani individuals for being calm and permitting the federal government and safety companies to deal with the difficulty. The State Chairman, Miyetti Allah Kautal Horai, Ardo Lawal Dano, who spoke to the Punch , expressed shock over the bombing that killed his kinsmen.

He appealed to the federal and state governments to come back to their help with a view to arrest these concerned within the act, calm the state of affairs, and restore normalcy within the space.

 

“The Fulani individuals are law-abiding residents. We don’t like hassle, so let the federal government handle the state of affairs as a result of we’re actually pained dropping our family members,” he added.
