“Biafra Struggle Ceased To Exist About 52 Years In the past” I Am Not

The presidential candidate of the Labour Celebration, Peter Obi,
has stated that his presidency wouldn’t help the realisation of Biafra, a
extended name for self willpower in South-East Nigeria.

 

In an interview with Brekete Household Present within the Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja, on Monday Obi, when requested if as president, he would push for
Biafran Republic, stated “I’m a Nigerian.”

The previous governor of Anambra State stated that the “Biafra
conflict ceased to exist about 52 years in the past and it stays so. I’m a Nigerian. I’m
contesting as a Nigerian.

“I’ve stated that those that are agitating, be it those that are
agitating in South-West, South-East or within the North. There’s agitation
all over the place due to the injustice, unfairness, marginalisation, poverty, name
it any identify. Persons are certain to agitate.”

 

Obi stated that if elected president, his solely curiosity was in
a brand new Nigeria for all, reiterating his promise to dialogue with all agitators
throughout the nation.

“I stated I’ll seek the advice of and talk about with all of them (agitators).
A brand new Nigeria is what I wish to construct and other people will probably be proud. That’s why I
stated, I’ll remedy the issues of the north, south-west. I would like Nigerians to
transfer round with their passports proud that they’re Nigerians,” Obi stated.

 

Nigeria’s South-East area has been rocked by insecurity as
agitation for a break free Biafra Republic by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous
Individuals of Biafra (IPOB) lingers.
