FG blames terrorists for Nationwide power outages

The Federal Authorities has blamed the frequent energy outages within the nation on the actions of the terrorists who vandalize energy infrastructures in several components of the nation.

The Minister of Energy, Abubakar Aliyu, said this whereas talking with newsmen after the weekly Federal Government Council (FEC) chaired by Vice President Yemi- Osinbajo on the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, June 29.

Aliyu expressed regrets that terrorists’ continued vandalism of energy infrastructure was severely affecting the capability to ship electrical energy to shoppers. He particularly spoke about instances within the North East, North West and North Central, the place he mentioned energy infrastructures had been being persistently attacked by terrorists after repeated repairs

He mentioned

“We’ve vandalism on our traces, vandalism on our stations, substations; now we have people who have an effect on us not directly, and people immediately affecting us however the infrastructure just isn’t immediately our personal.

Like vandalism round oil pipelines which have an effect on gasoline and when you don’t get gasoline to energy, you don’t get the megawatts; as soon as there isn’t any energy coming from the mills, what meaning.

We’ve plenty of challenges and it’s not that we’re sleeping over them. We’re up and doing, we’re tackling them as they arrive. Some already now we have pulled them down, some we’re pulling them down.

This can be a sector whereby you will have so many gamers, duties are vested on so many individuals. In actual fact, even some who will not be given any duty intrude. So, we’re working around the clock to make sure that we nip the whole lot within the bud. As an example, this Maiduguri situation that you’ve got notably talked about. Sure, by our considering out of the field, we’re in a position to take again electrical energy to Maiduguri and individuals are having fun with it.”
