Guber elections: Niger NUJ condemns military personnel’s attack on journalists

The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has condemned in robust phrases, the assault on some journalists of Landmark FM Kontagora masking the Governorship and State Home of Meeting elections in Kontagora by navy personnel within the state.

The State NUJ, in an announcement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Usman Chiji, described the assault as unlucky and barbaric, contemplating the significance of the overall elections to nationwide improvement.

In accordance with the union, “we’re apprehensive as a result of the assault on the harmless journalists negates the collective resolve by Nigerians to ensure the sustenance of democracy within the nation.

The assertion defined that though the journalists introduced their identification playing cards and wore press jackets and tags, the navy personnel threatened to cope with them.
