Two children, aged 5 and 9 allegedly attempt to steal 2-year-old boy in Kwara



Kwara State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged kidnap try of a 2-year-old boy by two kids aged 9 and 5, in Ilorin. 


It was gathered that the kids had been caught at Oja Tuntun market, Baboko, within the Ilorin metropolis.


The minors allegedly tried to kidnap the kid when merchants who had been suspicious about their motion, raised the alarm which led to their eventual arrest.


A supply available in the market, who craved anonymity advised Nigerian Tribune that the kids confessed that they had been promised N12,000 every in the event that they succeeded within the job.


“However now, the problem has taken a brand new dimension as these individuals talked about by the kids occurred to be a relation of the proprietor of the newborn. However the case is already on the Police headquarters,” the supply added.


Spokesperson of the command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident, mentioned the accused kids mentioned they had been solely making an attempt to find the boy’s mother and father. 


“Sure, we’re conscious of the case. The sketchy particulars we’ve now could be that it entails boy and a lady of 9 and 5 years outdated respectively, who had been accused of making an attempt to steal a two-year-old. However they (accused) mentioned the newborn was misplaced and so they had been making an attempt to find the mother and father,” the PPRO acknowledged. 


“That’s the sketchy particulars we’ve now however investigation is ongoing. And contemplating the ages of the events concerned, the CP has ordered for a radical investigation of the matter,” he added.
